James Milward has a degree in Economics and a postgraduate degree in Interactive Art and Entertainment from the New Media Lab at the Canadian Film Centre. James has worked extensively in TV commercial production and documentary film, prior to defecting to the dark arts of interactive, thirsting for a bigger creative canvas. Since then, James helped grow Toronto digital agency, Lifecapture Interactive from 3 people to 25, as the head of production, winning numerous awards and raising revenue over 1000%.

James founded interactive boutique Secret Location in 2007. Encompassing online, mobile, installation and transmedia storytelling, Secret Location has subsequently built several award-winning large-scale digital entertainment and brand projects. Over the last 6 months Secret Location has grown to a team of 10, and is currently working on 2 original online shows for Nickelodeon’s Teen Network, as well as producing several integrated campaigns for large brands and TV shows.

James has become a regular speaker at international conferences around the world including: SXSW Interactive, UPTO3, Next Media, The Banff World Television Festival and the Boards Summit.

Ted Brunt started his television career writing, producing and editing television for TVOntario, TSN, NBC, CBC and Global, In 1992 he moved from conventional broadcast production and started to explore interactive media.
He launched TVOntario’s Online Group, an intranet and revenue generating social media project in 1993. He helped bring TVOntario to the web in 1996, launching tvo.org, tvokids.com, tfo.org, and tvontario.org. He later moved to the Independent Learning Division as Chief Technical Officer, bringing Ontario high school curriculum online.
In 2003, Ted joined the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to work with CBC.ca and Children’s and Youth Programming as Chief Producer for Kids’ digital content. He performed a number of roles at the CBC, including Director of Arts & Entertainment Interactive, and Sr. Director of Digital Entertainment Programming.
Ted now works with marblemedia Interactive heading up interactive development and production.
Ted has been lucky enough to work with amazing teams on projects that have garnered many awards, including the NHK Japan Prize, Geminis, Flash in the Can Best Game, Milia D'Or, Gold MIM, Prix Jules Verne, Prix Leonardo, EMMA, CNMA, Vidfest, New York Festival Gold, and Webby awards.

Daniel Dales is President and Co-CEO of Smokebomb Entertainment, the digital media division of Shaftesbury Films, with responsibility for development and production of original online series and companion web experiences for Shaftesbury’s broadcast slate of properties. Since launching Smokebomb Entertainment in January 2008, Daniel has been Executive Producer on several convergent online projects for Shaftesbury productions, including CTV’s The Listener, CityTV’s Murdoch Mysteries, Family Channel’s Overruled!, and CBC’s Booky’s Crush. In addition to the convergent projects, Daniel has been actively involved in developing and creating Smokebomb’s slate of original online series, spanning several different genres, slated to launch in 2010.

Tecca Crosby began her career at Saturday Night magazine as assistant to the editor, then head researcher and finally as an associate editor. In 1986 she went to the newly formed Ontario Film Development Corporation as the senior development officer and in 1992 she assumed the post of Executive Coordinator, Production and Development.

From 1995 to 1998, Tecca worked as a freelance production consultant. She was story editor in residence at the Canadian Film Centre where she helped to establish the Professional Screenwriting Programme. Also during this time she co-created the award-winning series Slings & Arrows.

In 1998 Tecca went to work at CTV as director of dramatic programming, supervising the development slate for original Canadian drama. From 2006 to 2007 Tecca served as acting senior vice president of dramatic programming. During that time she oversaw the development and creation of four one hour dramatic pilots as part of a new programming initiative. In the fall of 2007, Tecca left CTV to pursue a career in independent drama production.

Vice-President, Development & Distribution at Muse Entertainment, Jesse Prupas produced his first teen series in 2008, the live-action comedy Family Biz (YTV/France 2) and managed to greenlit Muse’s first animated project, a mystery series for 6-9 year-olds titled The Mysteries of Alfred Hedgehog (TVO/TFO/SRC/France 5). Prupas is also an associate producer on the on the award-winning and critically-acclaimed series Durham County (TMN/Movie Central/Ion), which is now in its third season.

Prupas produced four TV movies in 2007: The Watch, Too Young To Marry, I Me Wed and Girl’s Best Friend. That same year he served as associate producer on four other TV movies: Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Black Swarm, Swamp Devil and Infected. In 2006, he produced three TV movies: Proof of Lies, House Sitter and Tipping Point. And in 2005, he produced the TV movies Mind Over Murder and Black Widower.

In 2009, Prupas will continue with the production of The Mysteries of Alfred Hedgehog and will also be developing a new slate of dramatic and comedy series, TV movies, mini-series and feature films for Canadian, US and international buyers.

Prupas is also responsible all Muse Entertainment’s New Media and web-based projects. In 2004 he developed the website to accompany the critically acclaimed series This is Wonderland (CBC) and in 2005 he obtained a Bell Fund grant to develop See Robin Jones (Nickelodeon) as an interactive website and pilot for tweens. Staple Kevin was Prupas’ next multimedia project and was a built as a viral-marketing campaign for the feature film Niagara Motel. In 2009 Prupas oversaw the production of the website for Family Biz (www.familybiztv.com) and its accompanying web-videos and is currently producing an interactive game to accompany The Mysteries of Alfred Hedgehog, which has obtained funding from the Bell Fund, the CTF, TVO, TFO, Radio-Canada and France.5.

Prupas also oversees Muse Distribution International and is responsible for selling television and new media content in Canada, the United States and around the world. He is also a development executive at Just For Laughs Muse Comedy Production (www.justamuse.com) Muse Entertainment’s joint-venture with Just For Laughs, which is focused on the development and production television comedies and comedic feature films.

Jesse Prupas got his break in the industry as a writer on the animated series Mona the Vampire (Cinar/YTV/France 2) and as a unit department intern on the teen series Student Bodies.
