About Toronto
Toronto lies on the shore of Lake Ontario, the easternmost of the Great Lakes, and is home to more than 2 million people; 4.5 million Canadians live in the surrounding GTA (Greater Toronto Area). The GTA is widely acknowledged as the cultural, entertainment, and financial capital of Canada. Toronto is also the seat of the Ontario government and abounds in opportunities in such diverse fields as banking and financial services, film and television production, fashion, and a thriving arts community.
