1. I have not received a confirmation letter, what should I do?
It may take several days to process your registration but if you registered more than 5 days ago, please contact us by email at register@achillesmedia.com.
2. I've registered for nextMEDIA, and can no longer attend. Can I send someone else in my place?
This depends on the type of registration you purchased. Check the Transfer Policy.
3. I've registered for nextMEDIA, and can no longer attend. Can I get a refund and how?
It depends on your registration type. Check the Refund Policy.
4. Can I purchase a registration on-site?
Yes, full and daily registrations are available on-site from the registration desk located in the main lobby of the Banff Springs Conference Centre.
5. Can I bring a guest to a social event?
- Full registrations include access to all official social events. One guest ticket may be purchased per social event. Guest tickets will be available on-site at the registration desk.
- Daily registrations include access to the social event for the day for which you are registered. You may purchase one guest ticket to each social event on the day for which you are. Guest tickets will be available on-site at the registration desk.
6. What do I wear to social events?
Business attire unless otherwise specified.
7. Do I need to bring my badge to social events?
All delegates must wear their badge to all social events, or entry will be denied; guests must present their tickets. Social events are reserved for registered delegates and accompanying guests only.
8. I need to have something sent to me at the Conference Centre, how do I do this?
If you are staying at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, please ensure that all mail & courier packages are sent to your attention to the address below.

If you are staying at an alternate hotel, all mail & courier packages should be sent to your attention there. Please do not send correspondence to the nextMEDIA offices or to the on-site registration desk.
Faxes should be sent to one of the two numbers listed below, depending where you would like the fax delivered.
Hotel Fax: (403) 762-5755 - for Fairmont Banff Springs hotel guests only and fax delivery to your hotel room
Conference Centre Fax: (403) 760-6050 - for delivery to the Conference Centre. Cover page should state: Deliver to Information Desk (Ground Floor, Conference Centre) at the Banff World Television Festival. It will be placed in your mailbox.
9. I need to change my hotel dates. How do I do this and will I get a refund?

10. What is the 2% Tourism Improvement Fee (T.I.F.)?
Effective November 1, 2006, the Tourism Improvement Fee (T.I.F.) is a 2% accommodation charge which will be used to enhance the experience of visitors by funding destination initiatives such as more and enhanced special event and heritage tourism programs, improvements and maintenance of information centres and services, and quality and ease of access to online information at www.banfflakelouise.com.
11. What is the 4% Alberta Tourism Levy?
Alberta imposes a 4% Alberta Tourism Levy on all lodgings. This is non-refundable. The tax will not apply to no-show charges or cancellations.
12. What is the 5% GST (Goods and Services Tax)?
Canada imposes a 5% tax on all goods and services purchased in Canada.
13. I'm thinking of bringing my family. What activities are there to do in Banff?
Banff is a world-class destination with many great activities for families such as hiking, cycling, horseback riding, fishing, canoeing, golfing, rafting, etc. In the busy summer season, it is advisable to make reservations in advance. To pre-arrange an activity, contact the concierge desk at your hotel or visit www.banfflakelouise.com for information on available activities and tour operators in the area.

Child care services can be arranged through the concierge desk at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel (call 403-762-2211). If you are staying at another hotel, child care can be arranged by contacting the YWCA Banff Resource Centre at 403-760-3200 or emailing crc@ywcabanff.ab.ca (during business hours).
14. What clothes should I pack?
Banff has a cool, dry climate. The area, which is at an altitude of 1,476 m (4,500 ft), has "mountain weather," meaning it is subject to daily changes in temperatures and conditions. You might need a t-shirt one day, a long-sleeved shirt the next day and a sweater or jacket at night. Daytime temperatures can (and sometimes do!) range between 5° C and 30° C (45° F and 86° F). 15. Will there be business services available?
