TERMS AND CONDITIONS

All submissions must meet the following rules for entry:

Registration:

  • Entries for the 2010 Canadian New Media Awards must be submitted online.


Entrant Eligibility:

All entries should be:

  • Created in Canada by a Canadian citizen, or team of individuals consisting of a majority of Canadian team members.  Businesses where entries are created do not have to be Canadian owned.
  • In the case of the “Best Company” categories, companies must be Canadian owned and controlled within the meaning of the Investment Canada Act, have a head office based in Canada. The company’s activities should also take place in Canada.


Access to Materials:

Due to the number of judges that need access to each product, all entries must be able to be evaluated online. It is the responsibility of each entrant to provide accounts, passwords, or any other materials required to access the product. Please note that up to 10 jurors may have to view this material simultaneously, therefore the password should accommodate this.

Entry Fee and Payment:
Achilles Media is providing a secure online payment facility for your convenience. Please keep in mind that with this arrangement, Achilles Media will appear on your next credit card statement, not CNMA. Payment can be made by credit card (Visa, Master Card or American Express).

Incomplete Submissions:
Incomplete submissions and those not conforming to the CNMA rules will be disqualified without any further notice and no refund will be provided for these entries. There is no possible legal recourse against such decisions.

Acceptance:
Along with completion of the registration, participants accept the rules, guidelines and criteria governing the CNMA.
 



The following rules apply to Project Category Award Submissions only:

Eligible Products:

  1. Only interactive media products or products that contain significant multimedia elements.
  2. All entries must be complete products. No drafts, demonstrations or unfinished prototypes are accepted.
  3. The language used in the product can be in English and/or French. 
  4. Products must have been produced/published/launched or re-designed no earlier than September 1, 2009 and no later than August 31, 2010.
  5. Due to the number of judges that need access to each product, all entries must be able to be evaluated online. It is the responsibility of each entrant to provide accounts, passwords or any other materials required to access the product. Please note that up to 10 jurors may have to view this material simultaneously, therefore the password should accommodate this.
  6. All entries can be accompanied by a minimum two-minute demo demonstrating the functionality of the product. The demo must be able to be evaluated online.
     


The following rules apply to All Award Submissions:


Copyright:
Producers must have the copyright permission for any pictures, sound, content, etc. used for the submission. Usage of all software should be legal.

Incomplete Submissions:
Incomplete submissions and those not conforming to the CNMA rules will be disqualified without any further notice. There is no possible legal recourse against such decisions.

Entitlement:
Registration and submission of a product to the evaluation itself does in no way entitle it to any specific benefits. There is no possible legal recourse against CNMA.

Quality:
Entrants are held responsible for the smooth functioning of their products.
