Why the Canadian New Media Awards?

The CNMAs were founded a decade ago to recognize ground-breaking Canadian companies and products in the newly-emerging field of digital media. Faced with a fractured and regional industry, the central aim of the awards was to bring together the Canadian digital community as a whole, a vision that is still central to the CNMAs today. Although much has changed as we've moved from CD ROM and dial-up connections to multi-platform interactive properties and online communities, the core of the CNMAs has remained the same–coming together to honour and celebrate the very best in Canadian digital achievement.

CNMAs Today

In 2007, the CNMAs partnered with Achilles Media, taking the awards to a whole new level. While the CNMAs began as a way of recognizing outstanding interactive and digital success amongst our own here in Canada, Achilles has worked to bring that message to an international audience. With a network extending across American and around the globe, Achilles has brought Canadian digital excellence to the world's attention.

Now in its tenth year, the CNMAs are proud to still be evolving alongside the Canadian digital media industry. Join us in celebrating an amazing decade of growth and innovation in Toronto this December!
