BANFF Announces Additional Master Classes for 2014

BANFF WORLD MEDIA FESTIVAL 2014 ANNOUNCES FOUR MORE EXCITING MASTER CLASSES

The Banff World Media Festival (BANFF) today announced four additional exciting Master Classes for the 35th annual BANFF, being held June 8-11, 2014. In addition toTrue Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto (announced last month), BANFF is thrilled to welcome Dan Harmon (creator of Community), Greg Yaitanes (executive producer of Banshee), Phil Baker (creator of Good Luck Charlie), and Ken Mok (creator and executive producer of America’s Next Top Model) to this year’s Festival.

The Master Class program is a perennial highlight at BANFF. Featuring first-rate showrunners from across drama, comedy, digital, kids & animation, and non-fiction content, BANFF’s renowned Master Classes are an opportunity for audiences to learn directly from expert showrunners, and be inspired by their shows’ success. Each Master Class presenter will detail their show’s trajectory, from its inception to its launch to its current place as a hit program.

“Throughout my journeys, I’ve developed a unique brand of wisdom about producing television,” said Dan Harmon, the creator of the Emmy Award winning comedy that is currently in its fifth season. “Wisdom which, if completely reversed, could result in a highly rated show.”

“Now in its twenty-first season, America’s Next Top Model is constantly challenging me and our team to find new ways to build excitement and engage fans,” said Ken Mok, Creator and Executive Producer of America’s Next Top Model. “I couldn’t be more pleased with the success the franchise has seen over its eleven-year tenure on television, and look forward to sharing the Top Model story at BANFF.”
